Description
With its elegant, droopig growth and pinnate leaves, this evergreen pepper tree makes an attractive tub plant, easy to care for. It can be cultivated as a tree and is a real eye-catcher when grown solitarily, for it will also produce beautiful fruits within our latitudes. The flowers are of whitish-yellow colour and rather inconspicuous. The pea-sized fruits turn purple and smell of pepper, just like the leaves. Often enough, the fruits are dried and used for stretching real pepper, mostly also for opitcal reasons. Pruning at will will help to cultivate the Schinus molle into the desired height.
