Description
The fast-growing, deciduous and imposing tree from South America impresses with its lush yellow-golden flowerage. The inflorescences cover the widespread tree crown completely making it more and more popular worldwide. The trees have already spread to Funchal, the capital of Madeira, where seven of these magnificent trees have been naturalized. In South America, the tree is known under many names like e.g. Brazilian fern tree, Brazilian fire-tree, Badarra, Pataqueira, Pau de cahoa etc.. With its nicely compound leaves, the plant is best cultivated in a tub within our regions and develops its typical strong ramification through constant heavy pruning.
