Description
The Jubaea Chilensis is certainly the most impressive species among the palm trees. It is the frost-hardest pinnate palm; the palm that grows the slowest and has the thickest trunk. It is also getting the oldest and is unfortunately still threatened with extinction. The sap is fermented into palm wine or commonly today, into a sweet syrup(palm honey) for culinery uses. In culture it is an unusual and robust beauty as a container plant with a smooth trunk and long pinnate leaves.
