Description
The Sea Buckthorn has experienced a boom in recent years as a premium food product with loads of vitamins and even smaller amounts of beta carotene. Sea buckthorn oils are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Similarly, many essential oils are contained in the sea buckthorn porridge of fleshy pseudo-drupes. Sea buckthorn is much consumed as fruit juice, jam or as fruit tea. The first harvest takes place after 5 to 7 years. It grows in the sand and the plant is thorny – the sea buckthorn. A plant is about 1.50 meters to a maximum of 4 meters high and reaches an age of 30 to 40 years
