Description
This rare plant is one of the most beautiful ornamental ginger species and is extremely robust. Cultivated in a bucket, the shell-ginger is a real eye-catcher. It forms in the summer hanging, fragrant flower panicles, in which the 3 outer bracts are congealed like a shell. Due to its flower color, it bears the name `Pink Porcelain Lily` in English. The leaves are narrow and bright green. In nature, the ornamental ginger reaches a height of 3 m, with keeping in the bucket, however, only 1.50-2 m are reached. The plant develops fleshy rhizomes, which spread easily and thus form dense clumps.
