Description
This rare citron grows bushy and upright. It is exceptionally floriferous, and unlike many other citrus varieties, its blossoms are white-violet and have a very intense, yet pleasant fragrance. The fruit is immediately eye-catching and resembles a hand with outstretched fingers, which is how it got its name – “Buddha’s Hand.” In Asia, plants associated with Buddha symbolize purity, happiness, and a long life. The finger lemon consists almost entirely of peel; there is hardly any pulp. The peel can be used for flavoring and has a sweet taste. The citron originates in the Himalayas.
