Description
The Levant cotton plant can be annual or perennial, grows like a shrub and reaches a height of around 50 cm. It begins to flower in July/August and after another seven to eight weeks it begins to produce fruit. The black capsule is the size of a pigeon’s egg and bursts open when it is ripe. The cotton-soft tuft then grows out of it. Cotton is native to South Africa.
