Description
Corymbia ficifolia, (previously known as Eucalyptus ficifolia), known as the Red Flowering Gum, is a lovely flowering eucalypt that is native to Western Australia. Grows as a small tree to a maximum height of 8-10 metres. Foliage is dark, glossy green in colour. The bark is rough to the small branches, fibrous and brown to grey-brown in colour. Produces masses of brilliantly coloured red or pinkish or orange flowers in Summer. The red flowering gum is one of the most commonly planted ornamental trees in the broader eucalyptus family.
