13181 Musa itinerans sp. blue burmese – Blue Burmese Banana

Description

Almost unknown here, the evergreen and perennial Burmese blue from Northern Thailand is a real eye-catcher. The plant is only of medium height, but the blue to almost violet fruits catch the eye immediately. The bananas are rather small, very sweet and well known in Thai cuisine. Like many other Musia-species, the Musa itinerans develops a rhizome, is easy to grow and quite cold resistant.
