Description
This impressive, large tree from South America with its low water requirement can be pulled here as an evergreen potted plant. Characteristic are its flat and strong roots, as well as the bulbous, thickened trunk. The fast-growing tree is often planted in southern countries as a shade tree, as it forms a dense crown. In Spanish, therefore, is called Bella Sombra. In summer, white flowers form, which then become small, yellow fleshy berries. The dioecious plant needs humus rich soil and a partially shaded to sunny spot when cultivating in a pot or container. Here you should water the plant a bit more in summer.
