Description
The evergreen tropical oleander, also known as the yellow oleander or bell tree, comes from South America and is only largely related to the Mediterranean oleander (Nerium oleander). It is known and loved throughout the tropics as an ornamental plant, although it is poisonous in all parts. The yellowish milky sap in the stems and leaves in particular contains a poisonous cardiac glycoside.
