The Frangipani is one of the most beautiful tropical ornamental plants. The genus Plumeria comprises about 8 varieties found in the Caribbean, the West Indies and northern North America. These summer-green shrubs or small trees form very thick, succulent shoots. The large, strongly fragrant and almost waxy flowers are in dreamlike golden together. The name Frangipani comes from an Italian prince from the 12th century. He won a perfume from the flowers and gave it his name.
