Description
This deciduous shrub/tree with its heart-shaped leaves is related to the magnolia family. The tree is particularly popular because of its color change. After budding, the leaves are reddish, then dark green and in autumn the foliage turns yellow-pink, orange and many shades of red. And the leaves smell of something very special – like gingerbread. The gingerbread tree is native to China and Japan.
