12962 Tacca chantrieri – Black Bat Flower

Description

This bizarre looking plant from the bat flower plant family is especially conspicuous for its dark violet to almost black flowers with long whiskers in between them. Next to “bat flower”, the plant is also called “devil flower” in English. The plant is growing to heights of 20 to 70 cm only.
