Description
This hardy, deciduous tree / shrub is a rose family that is particularly effective as a solitary plant. The medlar reaches a height of 2 to 5 meters and, with increasing age, develops a crooked trunk that is so characteristic of it. The common medlar forms edible small apple-like fruits, which change color from green to brown and are only ripe and edible after the first frost.
