Description
The imposing, evergreen tree from the laurel family comes from Asia. More specifically from Taiwan, China and Japan. It was brought to Europe in the 17th century and can sometimes be found in the Mediterranean. The camphor tree is very old and from its wood, the aromatic-scented camphor oil is obtained. This is used in the sauna area, it is cramping and provides good air. Meanwhile, it can be produced synthetically. The leaves are smooth, slightly leathery, lancet-shaped and release the pleasantly fragrant odor when it breaks. Although the tree is undemanding, adaptable, easy to care for and durable, it has not yet established itself as a container plant.
