Description
The black bamboo Phyllostachys nigra is native to southern China. The culms of this bamboo are black, 2 to 5 cm in diameter and reach a height of about 2m – 5m. The black bamboo is evergreen, the leaves are oval shaped. The black bamboo Phyllostachys nigra is a very popular garden plant.
Sowing Advice
The seeds can be started indoors at any time throughout the year. Press the seeds onto moist cultivation soil, cover them thinly with the substratum and move the container in a warm spot. Given temperatures around 25°C and even moisture, the seeds germinate after 10 to 12 days.
